Sterile packaging materials

Aseptic packaging materials generally include metal cans, glass bottles, plastic containers, composite cans, paper-based composite materials, and multilayer composite flexible packaging.
Metal cans
Aseptic packaging uses one of the earliest packaging materials, and is mainly divided into tinplate cans and aluminum cans. At present, the most advanced typical representative of the aseptic packaging of metal cans in the world is the US Dole Aseptic filling and irrigating system. The canister sterilization method used in the Dole system is dry heat sterilization, which uses high-temperature superheated steam to sterilize. When the empty can passes through the sterilization chamber on the conveyor chain, the superheated steam vehicle is sprayed up and down for 45 seconds, and the can temperature rises to 221 At -224°C, the lids were also sterilized using superheated steam at 287-316°C for 75-90s, these temperatures were sufficient to kill all the heat-resistant bacteria. The filling system is characterized by: all containers and equipment are used superheated steam sterilization, high degree of sterility; headspace inside the can have very little residual air, almost in a high vacuum state, product quality is safe and reliable.
Glass Bottles With the development of manufacturing technology, light weight reinforced glass bottles have emerged in recent years. The development of this technology has greatly improved the thermal shock resistance of glass bottles and greatly promoted the application of aseptic packaging technology. We can use saturated steam to sterilize the glass bottle, followed by filling and capping. At the time of sterilization, the temperature was 154°C and the time was 1.5 seconds.
plastic container
Plastic is the most widely used material in aseptic packaging and has the characteristics of low cost, diversified shapes, and strong mechanical adaptability. In recent years, with the continuous development of plastic film co-extrusion and container forming technology, plastics Will become the protagonist of aseptic packaging material. The requirements for plastic packaging materials mainly include the preservation and preservation of foods, the mechanical strength to adapt to circulation, the adaptability of packaging machines, and the commercial nature, and in particular, it requires high barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor. The sterile plastic material used is mainly a composite film.
Composite tank
It is generally a three-piece can consisting of two or more materials, namely metal cans for bottoms and lids, made of aluminum foil, cardboard, or polypropylene. The composite tank has the advantages of good printing and decorating effect, low cost, light weight, convenient handling and no public hazard, but the composite tank is worse than the metal tank, and the heat resistance is also poor.
Because of the poor heat resistance of the composite tank, it is generally sterilized with hot air at about 127°C. The juice is sterilized at a temperature above 93°C and then cooled to 80°C for hot filling. Aseptic air is used in the filling and sealing areas. Maintain positive pressure to prevent bacterial contamination. Composite tanks are limited to the filling of high-acid juices under such low-temperature and high-acid conditions.
Paper-based composite materials
Paper-based composite materials containers are made of paper, polyethylene, aluminum foil and many other materials. Western packaging containers are used more often in aseptic packaging, especially those produced by Swedish Tetra Pak packaging companies. Bacteria brick boxes and diamond bags are typical. This kind of composite material with a thickness of about 0.35mm is made of 8 layers of material and has excellent barrier properties against oxygen and water vapor, and the printing decoration effect is also very good. It is convenient to drink and has a long shelf life. It is a sterile packaging of beverages. Ideal material.
Sterilization of paper containers is a combination of hydrogen peroxide and heating. Firstly, the packaging material is passed through a hydrogen peroxide bath, and then a tubular heating element is used at the feed pipe portion during filling to make the air temperature as high as 430° C., so that the hydrogen peroxide film on the paper surface is rapidly decomposed into water and a new ecology. Oxygen, this oxygen has a strong bactericidal capacity, so that the container meets the requirements of sterility.
Take Kangmei box produced by Germany PKL as an example, it is a kind of 6-layer composite flexible packaging material. The outermost layer is polyethylene, followed by white paperboard, polyethylene, aluminum foil, and adhesive layers. The innermost layer is also polyethylene. The use of whiteboard paper instead of kraft paper as the base lining makes the rigidity of the carton much stronger.
New Sterile Packaging Materials
Nano-antibacterial packaging materials are new aseptic packaging materials that have just emerged in recent years. They use nano-technology to transform natural, basic materials to give them an amazing bactericidal effect. Antibacterial and aseptic packaging can make bacteria cells degenerate or precipitate. Once they encounter water, they will exert stronger killing power on bacteria, and have strong adsorption capacity, strong penetration, and strong antibacterial after multiple washings. effect.
