Carton preprinting new process (1)

The carton preprinting process began in the United States in the 1980s. At that time, both Coca-Cola companies used a large number of cartons for the packaging of bottled beverages. In order to increase production efficiency, printing machinery manufacturers developed a device capable of printing colorful patterns on webs. This has promoted the rapid development of flexo printing, and the production method of pre-printing patterns on wide webs using flexographic technology has quickly gained popularity.

Today, preprints account for 30% of the total volume of corrugated cartons in the United States, and Europe, which is home to a large number of SMEs, also accounts for 15%. China's first four-color flexographic preprinting machine was introduced by Shenzhen Lijia Group in 1997. It mainly provides color and environmental protection export packages for electronics, communications, footwear and other bulk products. As of 2002, the number of carton factories that can be preprinted in China has increased to seven, including four imported flexographic presses and three domestic gravure presses. In 2003, many customers' stable carton factories will set their sights on pre-printing new technologies. Both wide-satellite flexographic presses and unit-type gravure presses are effective solutions. With product packaging companies such as beer, beverages and foodstuffs being relatively stable in the design and consumption of corrugated boxes, the production of coloured corrugated cartons by pre-printed paper rolls may become a trend in the future of the packaging industry. Here, this article reviews the gravure preprinting process.
Reel preprinting is different from preprinting and prepreg printing. In preprinting, a pattern is first printed on the paper on the surface of the carton, and the paper is then pasted on the corrugated cardboard to form a three-layer paperboard. Cut into boxes.
At present, the vast majority of domestic color cartons use flat sheet offset preprinting methods. The process flow of the equipment is as follows: the flanging machine cuts the web into single sheets → the offset printing machine prints the single-faced paper → simultaneously the single-sided roll Layers of corrugated board → facing paper and single-faced corrugated board are moulded on the veneer and moulded; this process requires at least 5 machines and 10 operators.
The technical process of reel preprinting technology is: satellite type flexographic printing machine and unit gravure printing machine printing surface layer paper roll → cardboard line roll, cutting three or five layers of cardboard → die cutting machine molding, this process only 3 devices and 6 operators are required. Modern pre-printing technology refers to the pre-printing of webs. Pre-pressing of flexographic printing in foreign countries is quite mature, and China has begun to enter commercial applications.
So why do you need gravure preprinting? There are two main reasons. First, gravure printing can easily provide high-quality color prints. Second, electronic engraving technology can significantly reduce the production cycle and cost of metal plate rollers, which is close to or even lower than that of flexographic plates. With the rapid increase in the manufacturing and assembly technology of large-scale paper concave machines in China, the price is only one-third that of imported flexographic presses. The use of gravure pre-printing methods may be more suitable for the actual situation of packaging companies in China. (Unfinished)
