New Polyester Fiber (PCT)

A new type of polyester fiber has been developed by EASTMAN Chemical Co., USA. The polymer used is cyclohexylene dimethyl terephthalate (PCT). The series of fibers is called ASTMAN and has two short fibers and two filaments. This is a form that can be used to produce spunbonded and meltblown nonwovens. The fiber also has a very soft feel and very good resilience after compression, making it particularly suitable for making pillows and cushions. In addition, it has good hydrolytic stability and can be used for reusable mattresses and laundry bags.

STMAN fiber has a low specific gravity and is suitable for the production of blankets, carpets and saddle blankets. The pile fabrics produced by it have a low shrinkage rate, good thermal stability, are easy to dye and do not easily stick together, and the ironing temperature of the fabric can reach 205°C.
