The world's composite flexible packaging materials "flowers bloom"

In the 1950s, composite packaging film materials came out. Since then, the packaging industry has entered a new era of modern packaging from the traditional packaging of single packaging materials, and has also triggered a revolution in the packaging field. After years of development, various composite materials have been widely used in the packaging industry. This article gives a brief overview of the development trends and applications of composite packaging materials in the international packaging industry.
New composite "paper"
A super-strength composite "paper" was successfully developed by former Soviet scientists. The paper is as white as snow, as thin as flaps, soft as brocade, still intact after repeated folding, and inexpensive. The "paper" is made of basalt fiber at a high temperature of 2000°C, impregnated with phenolic resin and infiltrated into clay powder to make a film. Composite "paper" due to the rock-based material, so the long-term storage will not occur brittle, moldy, maggots and other phenomena, but also color printing. In addition, it can also be made of dust-free paper, sterilization paper, anti-charged paper, anti-electromagnetic interference paper, high transparent paper and so on.
Deodorant materials Deodorant packaging materials have been listed on more than 40 species, but there are mainly three types. For example, in Japan, a chemical deodorizing type A of Japan can remove odors of nitrogen compounds and sulfur compounds such as ammonia, dimethylamine, trimethylamine, and hydrogen sulfide. Class B is mainly used to remove odors such as hydrogen sulfide and formic acid. It is characterized by good deodorization effect on high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide. C-type materials are physical deodorizing type, which is made of activated carbon deodorant. Good deodorizing power at low concentration is the deodorizing feature of this type of material. Deodorizing film can be used for food packaging, and can be used for the packaging of foods, agricultural products, and aquatic products with special odors. It is also used for packaging of medical materials, sanitary materials, and sundries. Progress has also been made. It should be noted that the deodorant film is selective, so the use of odor composition, concentration, environmental humidity and other factors to be selected in order to obtain the best results.
Food spoilage or deterioration caused by microorganisms of antimicrobial materials is a headache and annoying problem, and antimicrobial packaging has become a hot topic. To this end, Japan added a new type of inorganic antibacterial agent to packaging materials, and successfully developed antibacterial packaging materials, which have antibacterial effects on various pathogenic bacteria. Currently widely used is the antibacterial film, which is made by adding an antibacterial agent and a synergist to the polyolefin film. This antibacterial packaging material has most common microorganisms such as coliform bacteria, staphylococcus aureus, and black fungus. Antibacterial effect.
High-barrier materials As we all know, the performance of aluminum-plastic composite packaging materials is superior, but it is opaque. Therefore, a new high-barrier material has been successfully developed. Its other properties are equal to or better than those of aluminum-plastic composite packaging materials. This kind of composite packaging material called GT is made by depositing a 100-nm-thick film of inorganic substances such as silicon oxide and titanium oxide on the surface of a plastic film. This kind of coating has stable performance. Even after high-temperature sterilization, its gas barrier performance is equivalent to 25μm thick EVOH, but the price is lower than the latter.
Low-temperature sealing material packaging machinery requires simple and convenient, energy conservation, increase speed, increase efficiency, to meet the needs of modern high-volume packaging, so the use of low-temperature sealing packaging materials is a necessary condition. It has a series of characteristics: no thermal impact on the contents of the package, so it is particularly suitable for packaging of heat-repellent items; applicable to difficult-to-seal substrates; can simplify the packaging structure, reduce costs, save energy; can achieve high-speed packaging; The seal has good cold resistance, and the seal strength does not decrease even at -20°C.
The requirements for high-lining sealing materials for flexible packaging are mainly stylish and low-cost. For example, packages such as chocolates are susceptible to heat and require a low package temperature and a beautiful seal. For this purpose, a high-speed sealing packaging material was developed, which is a packaging material coated with a low-temperature heat-sealable layer H SS and capable of high-speed sealing at low temperatures. It is superior to other materials such as EVA, acrylics, heat-sealing varnishes, traces of paraffin, and so on, so it can be used in packaging that severely limits the effects of odors. It is characterized by fast sealing speed and is suitable for high-speed machinery. For example, when using OPP/KOP/H SS packaging material, the speed of the bag making machine can reach 500/m in. The low-temperature layer H SS can be applied not only to the surface of paper and aluminum foil, but also to the surface of various plastic films such as OPP, KOP, PET, PVC, PE, etc. Generally, the thickness of the H SS coating is about several micrometers to meet the requirements.
Conductive Packaging Materials The early US electronics industry lost more than millions of dollars each year due to poor electrical conductivity of packaging materials, prompting people to study them. As a result, the development of conductive packaging materials in the United States was fast and early, and a series of electrical conductivity has been formed. The packaging materials are mainly used for the packaging of static-sensitive products such as static electricity prevention and static elimination, as well as anti-electromagnetic packaging for precision instruments and missiles.
Functional packaging materials use composite functional materials that are better than composite functional packaging materials. Commonly used are rust-proof, anti-cardiochromic, mold-resistant, preservative, and nanoscale. Due to people's requirements for modern life, fresh-keeping packaging has been rapidly developed, and more than 100 series of fresh-keeping functional materials have been successfully developed. For convenience of use, functional bags or sheets are usually made.
Intelligent packaging materials currently developed by smart packaging materials are usually made of composite materials such as photoelectric, temperature sensitive, moisture sensitive, and packaging materials. It can identify and indicate some important parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure, sealing degree, and time of the packaging space. This is a kind of smart packaging material with promising development.
In the future, with the development of industry and the needs of the military, the storage period of industrial products, especially defense products, will be prolonged. Therefore, composite packaging materials will surely develop in the direction of serialization, multi-functionality, high-performance, and special functions. To meet us in the new century will surely be a flourishing composite packaging material. (From "China Packaging News", January 4, 2001)
