Several Problems Related to Binding Design and Binding Processing

Keywords: binding design, binding process, binding, material, book shell, a kind of books, the appreciation of the readers, the social recognition, the passage of generations, like the treasure collection, this is not only the author's careful creation, the process of cultivation is not to thank the flowers, but also The aesthetics of publishing designers, the performance of talents of the times, and the crystallization of the skills and hard work of the printers. People are very happy to create a common treasure of spiritual wealth and knowledge.
In the actual work, the author observed that the quality of some books and magazines is not satisfactory, and sometimes I feel very uneasy and sorry. Some problems are difficult for printers to improve. From the point of view of binding and processing, several questions have to be asked here to discuss with the framing designers. These problems have both the problem of the framing method and the problem of framing materials.
First, the manner of loading. The editing of Lekou books should be done with a lock line, which should not be used for binding. The wireless glue book is back flat and crisp, but from the binding process point of view, the books of Lekou use the binding of wireless glue, in the binding process, first the cut portion must be cut, and then the binder must be milled and backed. Beat, brush, package surface. The cut part has been formed and pressed by the book binder, it will inevitably cause the cut part to be deformed and affect the product quality. To make it not deformed, the perfect binder will go through two processes. In the first processing, the back of the book is first wrapped with waste paper, and then the paper is torn off and a second process is performed. This time-consuming and time-consuming material (adding a hot-melt adhesive once) is a costly alternative to the glue binding method. Obviously, this kind of framing is not desirable. Therefore, the author believes that any book that has a mouthful is intended to adopt the binding mode of sewing and binding.
Second, paperback books, coated paper cover is not plastic, the background color does not use a dark background as well. Coated paper is afraid of moisture. In case of wetness, it will not only bow but also stick. Adhesives used for paperback covers are water-resistant (except for hot-melt adhesives). If the background color is dark, the cover will be affected by moisture. The color of the seals and seals at the foot will stick out, causing a little bit of white markings and affecting the appearance. If the darker the background color, the more obvious this phenomenon, and vice versa, slightly better.
In addition, hardcover coated paper liners printed with dark colors also have similar problems. When the shell is hard-covered, the book shell needs to be coated with adhesive agent on both sides. After the book shell is assembled with the book block, the pressure groove is heated, and the coated paper will produce adhesion when heated. The background color of the ring lining will be white, which will damage the beauty of the ring lining.
Third, in the use of binding materials for hardcover books, we believe that there are currently two issues that seriously affect the tightness of hardcover:
First, the hard cover of paper uses coated paper instead of plastic, which directly affects the firmness of the book case. Coated paper itself is very poor in fiber and flex resistance. The degree of firmness of hardcover books is determined by the firmness of the connection between the book case and the book block. Book shell fabrics have poor flexural properties and are easily broken. Book shells and book blocks are easily separated and directly affect product quality.
In the past, some hardcover books were printed on paper, and some books or books were also used in this way. The purpose was to enhance the fastness of the bookcase. We feel that this is much better than a simple paper book shell and is of better quality. If paperback must be used, the paperback waist will be better.
Second, the use of non-woven fabrics on the back of the hardcover book has a certain influence on the firmness of the hardcover. Non-woven fabrics are made of cellulose material glued with adhesive, and its flexibility is far inferior to gauze.
The degree of firmness of hardcover books, as previously stated, is determined by the degree of adhesive bonding between the bookcase and the bookblock. The type of binding material used on the back of the book will have a direct effect on the degree of firmness.
For many years of production practice, we know that some may consider costs or benefits. Therefore, the consideration of framing materials is sometimes rather poor. For example, there are hardcover books of world literary classics, the cover design is very delicate, and the printing quality is also exquisite and very collectible. However, from the point of view of the binding materials it uses, the cover art paper is not plasticized and the ring lining is a coated paper. The back of the book is a non-woven fabric. These three types of frame materials are lack of flexibility, no toughness, and easy to break. The hardcover books made with this binding material must have a very poor degree of firmness. They cannot afford to be read. The book shell and the book core will not be glued together for a long time. The book case will be broken, the ring lining will be broken, and the back of the book will be broken. , A perfect hardcover all shelled out, and ultimately could not escape the "golden husk shelling" of doom, made the reader ridiculous. Hardcover books and periodicals, which only talk about the appearance of beautiful things, do not talk about the degree of intrinsic similarity is more common. At present, it is necessary to enhance the firmness of hardcover books and books, and this also needs to be improved from the material used for binding.
