Determination of diethylstilbestrol in milk products invented by Lanzhou Chemicals

Diethylstilbestrol (DES) is a non-steroidal hormone that can be used to treat gynecological diseases and promote animal growth. However, DES and its metabolites cannot be completely digested and absorbed, and its residues still remain in animal tissues, organs and excreta, and then enter the external environment, become environmental estrogen, and finally enter the consumer through the food chain, causing cancer and other diseases. In view of this, the use of DES is strictly prohibited in many countries. However, many DES alternatives do not have the characteristics of DES. Therefore, due to economic interests, the abuse of DES continues. Therefore, it is of great significance to establish an efficient DES analysis and determination method. However, there are certain deficiencies in the existing DES detection methods, such as high cost, long time consumption, and sample retention.

The pharmaceutical chemical composition group led by Prof. Yan Ping, a key laboratory of Northwestern Key Laboratory of Plant Resources Chemistry, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, invented carbon nanotube-reinforced hollow fiber solid-phase microextraction combined with high performance liquid chromatography to determine milk products A new method of diethylstilbestrol. Researchers filled multi-walled carbon nanotubes into the pores of hollow fibers through the sol-gel method. Hollow fibers prevented large molecules, such as proteins, from entering small pores; multi-walled carbon nanotubes in the pores of hollow fiber walls could be adsorbed Target molecule. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes are first selectively extracted from DES, desorbed to methanol, and then analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography. After optimizing the extraction conditions, an effective cleaning effect, good linearity and recovery rate were obtained.

The method is simple in operation, low in cost, does not require the use of solvents, and can quickly and effectively detect DES residues in milk products.
