Oxygen-proof packaging technology

Overview Oxygen is chemically very reactive and chemically interacts with various substances. The chemical reaction of oxygen with oxygen is called oxidation. When the substance undergoes an oxidation reaction, a large amount of heat is often emitted, and if the released heat energy is immediately lost in the air, the increase in the temperature of the substance is not easy to be detected, otherwise the phenomenon of heating inside the substance will occur. No matter if the oxidation rate is high or low, it will eventually have many harmful effects.
(1) Oxygen is one of the most important conditions for the survival of organisms, but oxidation causes organisms to produce peroxides that cause biological degeneration. The biological cells living in the air of oxygen contain catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase. Their role is to eliminate the harm caused by oxygen and peroxide. Once these enzymes fail, oxygen can jeopardize the survival of biological cells.
(2) Oxygen contributes to the burning of the material, and in addition to having beneficial effects in life and production, it also brings harm to humans and natural resources, life, and production materials.
(3) In addition to a few metals such as gold and platinum, most of the metals can react with oxygen, so that some products can be produced for production use. However, the amount of metal that is oxidized by oxidation each year is staggering.
(4) Under the combined action of oxygen, water vapor, and carbon dioxide in the air, most non-metallic materials undergo complex chemical changes, resulting in aging, fading, and corrosion degeneration of non-metallic materials.
(5) Oxygen is one of the important conditions for the survival and reproduction of insects and microorganisms. Insects and microorganisms have great harm to macromolecule materials and foods, drugs, cosmetics, etc., and can cause them to degenerate and deteriorate.
From this we can see that if commodities are exposed to oxygen for a long time during storage and transportation, they will inevitably suffer different degrees of damage. In order to prevent the reduction of the quality of products that are in circulation due to the action of oxygen, oxygen-proof packaging (or oxygen-free packaging or oxygen-free packaging) is generally used. That is to say, while reducing or eliminating oxygen inside the package, the inside of the package is isolated from the outside air with proper packaging structure and materials, so as to achieve the purpose of protecting the commodity. For high-molecular materials products, oxygen-proof packaging is not only a kind of anti-mildew packaging, but also an anti-aging packaging; for food, anti-oxygen packaging is not only an aseptic packaging, but also a kind of anti-corruption packaging.
