This week, iMakr partnered with Le Bon Marché (Le Bon Market), a luxury department store in Paris, to launch an event to customise special incense candles for consumers - "The Mini You" candle (The Candle Mini-You ). iMakr will use 3D scanning and 3D printing technology to customize its unique 3D printed portraits for consumers and make them in the form of candles.
In fact, iMakr has worked with a number of department stores before, printing miniature portraits for consumers in 3D, some using ordinary colored sandstone materials, and using chocolate. And this event is to use the upcoming Christmas season to provide a unique 3D printing "mini you" portrait candles, people add festive atmosphere.
From November 1, 2014, consumers will be able to enter the Le Bon Marche store in central Paris, where there will be a dedicated booth to use 3D scanning technology to model consumer scans.
The 3D model file will be sent to the iMakr store in London. A dedicated 3D printer will print the relevant 3D model. They first used silicone 3D to print out the molds and then cast them using natural candle wax. There are 5 different colors and fragrances available to consumers.
Finally, the bust of this incense wax can be sent to customers based on the address, or it can be taken by the customer to Le Bon Marche's store. British consumers can also customize this wax figure.
If you can't get to Paris, it doesn't matter. Just send iMakr your own three photos. They can also help you make a mini bust. Order instructions here. However, in order to obtain the best results, iMakr still recommends that you go to the scene for 3D scanning.
A 6-inch (approximately 15 cm) tall mini wax figure with a standard black marble base is priced at £199; an 8-inch (approx. 20 cm) price is £299.
