Agfa Purple Chemical-free Digital Plate First Test

Recently, Mediaprint became the first company to put Agfa's purple chemical-free digital plates into production, with the first press volume reaching 200,000.

Agfa's new printing plate technology has been demonstrated at Ifra. Visitors at the site have also been privileged to see the demonstration of applying this technology to the newspaper printing process environment for the first time at Mediaprint's booth.

This purple plate is suitable for eliminating high pH solvents in traditional printing preprinting processes. Non-ablative printing plates can produce high-quality corresponding images in low energy consumption without contaminating the printing equipment.

Andy Grant, Agfa’s global newspaper print manager, said: “We are very satisfied with the outstanding performance of this purple, chemical-free digital plate. Combining excellent printing performance with high-performance printing can achieve high-efficiency printing jobs.”

This purple printing plate will continue to be tested on Mediaprint's equipment and will be unveiled in the market for the first time in the spring of 2008 after a series of testing programs.
