First, why use helium test steel drum

If the concentration is 1%, the leak rate should be E-5 for a 20-micron hole. If you use the bubble method to test the same hole, you need to charge 1Bbar of compressed air for 5 minutes to see the 1-mm bubble. Therefore, the helium test meets the requirements of high precision and high speed.

The values ​​measured by the helium leak detector include the values ​​of the vacuum box background, the leakage of the vacuum box itself, and the accumulated leakage of the steel drum. Therefore, it is particularly important to control the background to be above the qualified barrel leak rate. Generally, this value needs to be set. Controlling leakage above this level of E-6 can be effective.

The equipment should be tested in a standard barrel (with a standard 20-micron leak) in a timely manner to prevent external factors from affecting the test results.

Small leaks can't be detected under fast beats, because leaks require time for any substance to penetrate it. Leakage is “seepage”, and helium leak detection can quickly detect “seepage”. But it is impossible to measure it with fast beats.

The barrels with different substances do not have the same requirements for leakage. Because the molecular radius and viscosity are not the same, customers can adjust their own setting standards between E-3 and E-6 according to their own requirements.

The concentration of radon gas is proportional to the leakage rate. The higher the concentration, the greater the value of the leakage rate. Therefore, we tried to compare the data using quantitative injection method. We used 600ML, 1200ML, and 2000ML helium gas to test 10 times of data for barrels that were not equipped with standard leaks. The data results were not significantly different. The standard leak test was installed 10 times, and the data was divided into three blocks, but there was a clear difference from the data when the standard leak hole was installed. With low helium concentration close to the background, our equipment will directly upgrade the helium filling system to quantitative priming. This alone can save 100,000 RMB in helium gas costs for customers with an annual production capacity of 500,000 barrels.
