How to Choose a Coach in the Snow Season Encyclopedia

Every sport has its own movement and learning rules. Learning a sport from the teacher, starting from the basics, step by step, learning in the most reasonable way, can make you a Pro, or at least it can make you like a Pro and learn to play tennis. When you learn from a professional trainer, your posture naturally looks handsome and the same goes for skiing. So, my advice is to hire a coach when learning to ski. It is also necessary to hire a good coach and lay a good foundation. It will be faster and safer to improve in the future!

What is an excellent coach and what is the standard? This may be a problem that puzzles us.

First of all, we need to understand the types and levels of coaches currently active in various ski resorts in China. Generally speaking, they can be divided into two major categories. One is professional coaching, and the other is amateur coaching. The so-called professional coaches refer to people who teach skiing in all major snow fields. The so-called amateur coaches are snow lovers who slide better and can be willing to pay for or free to teach snow lovers.

★ Professional coaches can generally be subdivided as follows:

1. Have received professional coaching training and have been certified by the China Ski Association or a foreign ski instructors association and a similar organization.

2. Have received training from the ski resort ski school, but have not yet obtained certification from any national agency. Although this type of coach does not have a national unified qualification certificate, it is still active in various ski resorts, long-term ownership of a certain ski resort, and is recognized by Xueyou.

3. Athletes who have retired from national or provincial professional teams are diverted to become ski instructors and are active in various ski resorts as senior instructors or VIP instructors.

4. I am very good at sliding, teaching is also good, but also coach qualification, but not belong to any ski resort, but as an independent coach active in the various ski resort coaches.

★ Followed by amateur coaches:

1. There is no official coaching qualification, but in the past may belong to a ski professional team, or once trained in a snow school ski school, coached once, now independent of the ski resort to attract guests, pay teaching.

2. Enthusiasts have a better slide and are willing to share and teach other people to ski enthusiasts.

★ Introduction of the China Ski Association Certified Coach System:

The China Ski Association has been working as a ski instructor for training for several years. The training and certification targets are mainly for ski resort staff. In the coach training and certification exam held in Wanlong in 2009, I had tried to recruit non-practitioners or snow pals. I was one of the 10 people who got the qualifications of ski instructors in that period. From this snow season, the Hebei Province Sports Commission authorized Hao Shihua Ski School to hold coach training and qualification certification examinations in Hebei Province. The training target can be snow field practitioners, or snow friends. This reform can be described as snow friends. Snowmen opened a door to try skiing lessons.

The core team of instructors and trainers of the China Ski Association is a special training team, which was initiated by the teacher Li Yuwu. Members are mainly from the provincial and national ski team retired athletes. A total of 12 people, we are familiar with the "Hua Sister" President Hao Shihua and Peking University's Yin is one of the veterans of this training team. The members of these special training teams constitute the earliest trainers and examiners of the China Ski Association. It can be said that the training and certification of coaches across the country is a source of fire.

According to the China Ski Association Ski Instructor System, there are primary instructors, intermediate instructors, senior instructors, and then trainers. The highest level is the examiner. Most of the currently qualified instructors at various ski resorts are these instructors.

★ Coaches who have obtained coach qualification overseas:

In Europe, the skiing instructor system is dominated by ski-progressive countries such as Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy. There are many snow friends who have participated in short-term ski training in these countries, but they are systematically accepted in these countries. There are few people who have trained and obtained certification for ski instructors. There are two main reasons for this. One is the need for sufficient teaching practice time in these countries, followed by language barriers, because the test is still based on the local language.

In Asian countries, mainly in Japan and South Korea. There are two kinds of coach training systems in Japan. One is Japan's own SAJ coach training system, and the other is the Japan Ski Instructors Alliance (SIA). Through these two organizations, a large number of ski instructors are trained. The ski resort instructor dispatched through the exchange. Some coaches have already obtained SAJ's ski competence certification qualifications in the Japanese ski resorts. For example, Wanlong's Xie Yu passed the technical-grade ability certification exam in Rusuu. The same people who have been systematically trained and qualified for coaching for the first two reasons have not yet heard about it.

In the United States, there is the Professional Ski instructor of America (PSIA), a professional ski instructor association founded in 1961 that organizes ski training and coaching training for the United States. In Canada, there is the Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance Canadian Ski Teachers Association, which was founded in 1938 earlier than the PSIA. The members of the Chinese Ski Association's special training team once received training from the PSIA in the United States. Compared with the PSIA, it is said that CSIA's coach qualifications, especially primary qualifications, are relatively easy to obtain. Many of the English-language skiing teaching videos currently circulating on the Internet come from the PSIA and the CSIA.

In addition, New Zealand is a ski-heavy country but has a more developed ski instructor training system and various schools. The teaching time requirement is not as strict and long as the above countries. At the same time, the test language is English. Therefore, there are more people who go to New Zealand to participate in training and get first-level (primary) coaching qualifications. Wang Chen, President of Wanlong Ski School, is one of the instructors trained and qualified in New Zealand. Principal Wang is now qualified as a second-level coach, and the highest level is three.

The first three categories of professional coaches mentioned above are the mainstays of ski resorts in various ski resorts. If you have the opportunity, you can ask them more.

★Different levels of coaches in various ski resorts:

At present, there is no national unified standard for the classification of coaches at all ski resorts. Generally, they are based on the needs and organizational structure of the ski resort itself. The two most common categories are as follows:

1. Official coaches - These coaches have all the qualifications mentioned above. They are fixed employees in the field or coaches with basic salary.

2. Part-time coaches - Some of these coaches also have the aforementioned qualifications, but as part-time coaches, appear on the ski slopes during weekends or holidays to provide teaching services.

In front of these two categories of coaches, according to the needs of the school is also divided into elementary, intermediate, senior, special coaches and VIP instructors, fees vary. The specific charges are generally stated on the site of the ski resort.

★ A good coach, I think at least have the qualities and capabilities:

1. Safety awareness is a priority: To teach Snowy’s safety habits from the beginning, to remind and strengthen relevant safety precautions in different teaching stages, including but not limited to how to do warm-up exercises, how to get up and down the cable cars, and how to stay on the snowy roads. On a technical level, it can tell guests which gliding methods will be more dangerous under certain circumstances, and which wrong gliding methods will easily lead to chronic injuries to the body.

2. Be good at listening and asking questions: Listening is to understand guests' skiing needs. Some guests will directly tell you what he wants to learn. The language described may not be accurate, but as a coach, you need to understand the requirements of the guests in a timely manner. The purpose of asking questions is the same as listening. In the face of a bad-looking guest, the coach needs to obtain the learning needs of the guests through brief questions and answers.

3. Have a good ability to express: Can accurately and clearly tell the essentials of the action, especially guests who can face different cognitive abilities, use different expressions to allow guests to quickly understand the essentials of the action. The ability to express is not simply a clear and accurate use of language and characters, but also includes the ability to present, for example, the emphasis can be emphasized through repetition or loud voices, and it is easy to understand dialect accents, and the speed of tone can be easily understood by the guests. If necessary, assistive expression can also be performed through body language, such as gestures.

4. Observing ability: By watching the guests slide, they can accurately capture the problem and find the cause of the wrong action.

5. Solution design capability: Know the problem of guests or the causes of wrong actions, and can quickly form targeted solutions, including demonstrations of correcting and correct actions of wrong actions, step-by-step action-guided exercises, and special actions to strengthen practice guidance. Wait.

6. The ability to understand and explain correct movements, as the saying goes, "Slip well, not necessarily speak well," but as a coach, you must skimp well and speak well. If your gliding action has not yet reached the standard, At least, the coach should theoretically understand what is the correct action and how to express it so as to guide the guests.

7. Dressing and hygiene habits: Faced with guests, the dress is clean and tidy without smell of smoke, the oral cavity does not emit odor when talking, etc. These are the most basic details of politeness.

8. Polite Language: Especially for the first time teaching, the language used by the guests must be standardized and courteous. Even if familiar with the guests, politeness and habits are also very important and a reflection of personal qualities.

9. Patience and Service Awareness: Coaches are paid for by their own teaching services to obtain the appropriate rewards and guest recognition, so the satisfaction of the guests determines whether you can have repeat customers. Of course, guests can refuse if they ask non-teaching areas, especially unreasonable demands.

10. Taxi technology: This is the reason behind this, because I think it is necessary to have basic skills as a ski instructor. If you want to gain the trust and respect of the guests, you must be stronger than the guests at least in taxiing technology.

In front of the actual ski environment, it is almost impossible to meet such coaches. However, there are still many coaches who have several of these skills. As a guest, we can ask the coach at the same time, in fact, we can also think for ourselves. What do we actually need? When we learn a sport, what is our cognitive ability? Sun Zi’s art of war is “knowing oneself and knowing each other and fighting each other”. Although the coaches are not fighting, they understand their own needs and at the same time understand their cognitive habits and characteristics so that they can select coaches in a targeted manner or ask the coaches accordingly.

★ Here's a summary of the learning styles common to learning skiing:

1. Good at observing type: The characteristic is to like to listen to the coach to explain, and then look at the coach to do the action, but he will not take the initiative to try to do the action, language explanation coupled with the action demonstration will only have effect on you, you will try to do action.

2. Be good at thinking type: This type of snow-friendly is bizarre and always asks questions. It requires detailed understanding of the essentials when learning new moves.

3. Good at perceptive: Perceiving ability is strong, learn faster when learning a new movement, usually learn from already mastered the sports skill, understand the new movement with the same principle, this type of snow friend is often the fastest to improve, self-taught Most of the Snow Friends belong to this type, and coaching is the finishing touch.

4. Be good at action type: When coaches use language to describe movements, they can't basically listen in. I hope the coaches are concise and they like to do things directly. They don't have the patience. When they are slippery, they usually like to follow behind the coach. They feel that this is the fastest way to learn.

What kind of type do you own? You can analyze yourself.

Understand what levels and types of coaches, and the corresponding capabilities, and then fully understand their own needs and ability to learn. Ask the coach to teach you when skiing will be a multiplier.

Excellent coaches generally need to book in advance. They may choose guests instead of picking them.

I hope that the above experience will help everyone. (The author of this article, Honghua Liang)
